about

Hank Williams first recorded this song on 25 July 1951. With a nod to Mike Ness, The Riffing Cowboys speed through this punked-up version in slightly over two minutes, replacing Hank's measured 3/4 time with ye olde yahoo 4/4 standard. Jason Ringenberg sings it like a man who's spent time in a Georgia prison (and we are quite sure he hasn't), and Eric "Roscoe" Ambel crunches out a fittingly raw solo. As Dan Baird would say, "Turn it up and let it rip!"

Eric “Roscoe” Ambel: Lead guitar

Philip Shaw Bova: Drums

Phillip Victor Bova: Bass

Warner Hodges: Rhythm guitar and lead fills

Jason Ringenberg: Vocal

Graham Young: Rhythm guitar

about

The Riffing Cowboys Ottawa, Ontario

The world's first rock 'n' roll tribute to Hank Williams--a foot-tapping, and at times fist-pumping, assemblage of basement-bred rock ‘n’ roll that presents some stellar Hank songs in high gear.
