about

This song was first recorded by Hank Williams on 7 November 1947. His version is a bouncy little ditty, but The Riffing Cowboys are in gallop mode from the opening riff to the final chord. Warner Hodges introduces slide guitar—paying homage to steel-guitarist Don Helms of The Drifting Cowboys—and spits out some fiery, double-tracked leads behind Hank's unorthodox solo-break timing. Jason Ringenberg counterbalances the punk rhythm with his inimitable twang.

Joe Blanton: Bass

Philip Shaw Bova: Drums

Warner Hodges: Lead, slide, and rhythm guitars

Jason Ringenberg: Vocal

Graham Young: Rhythm guitar

about

The Riffing Cowboys Ottawa, Ontario

The world's first rock 'n' roll tribute to Hank Williams--a foot-tapping, and at times fist-pumping, assemblage of basement-bred rock ‘n’ roll that presents some stellar Hank songs in high gear.
