about

This song was recorded by Hank Williams likely in fall of 1951 in Nashville, TN, although as Hank authority and author Colin Escott says, "No one knows where he recorded Weary Blues... Fred Rose had a demo studio in his house. Maybe there."

Hank recorded this song alone with his acoustic guitar, a mournful ballad containing perhaps the saddest lyric he ever wrote: "For all the things that might have been, God forgive me if I cry." Keith Dyck's splendid arrangement and Warner Hodges's zesty solos turned The Riffing Cowboys' version into something suitable for twistin' by the pool rather than for slashing your wrists.

Philip Shaw Bova: Drums

Phillip Victor Bova: Bass

Anders Drerup: Vocal

Keith Dyck: Song arrangement

Bernie “Buzzz” Haughian: Acoustic guitar

Warner Hodges: Lead, slide, and rhythm guitars

Graham Young: Rhythm guitar

The world's first rock 'n' roll tribute to Hank Williams--a foot-tapping, and at times fist-pumping, assemblage of basement-bred rock ‘n’ roll that presents some stellar Hank songs in high gear.
